Upstate Veterinary Specialists opens its doors in a converted Hardee’s restaurant in Greenville SC. We are the first specialty practice in the Upstate with our staff consisting of one surgeon, one veterinary nurse and one receptionist.
We completed our new facility on Woods Lake Road. Our new hospital allows us to bring new technology such as CT scanning. We can also now treat patients with radioactive iodine for thyroid disease.
We are awarded the 2003 Veterinary Economics Hospital of the Year award for our innovative architectural design and state of the art facility.
Upstate Veterinary Specialists undergoes an expansion, doubling its size and accommodating a full service oncology suite. The first linear accelerator in South Carolina is installed allowing pets with cancer to receive radiation therapy in addition to chemotherapy as we aggressively pursue cancer treatment.
We are fortunate to receive a second Veterinary Economics Award for Best Specialty Hospital, recognizing the advances we have made in specialty medicine.
Upstate Veterinary Specialists teams with the American Cancer Society for our first Paws For A Cause dogwalk. Since its inception, we have raised over $100,000 for the fight against cancer in humans and increased the awareness of cancer in pets.
