Dr. Benham is a former navy brat and has lived from coast to coast in the United States. She finally settled in Georgia where she attended the University of Georgia for both her undergraduate and veterinary degrees. Dr. Benham has worked with a variety of animals in many settings including studies with non-human primates and small mammals, an equine reproduction facility, and as a member of the equine colic and foul care teams. After moving to the Upstate, she started working exclusively with small animals and has been in emergency medicine since 2005. She particularly enjoys the pace and case rarity, and her professional interests include trauma stabilization and wound care. Dr. Benham lives in Greenville with her husband, daughter, three dogs, and three cats. She is also the proud stepmom to five adult stepchildren. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, drawing, painting, and hot yoga.
