Dr. Dana Connell received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine and Masters of Public Health from the University of Florida. Following a small animal surgery and medicine internship at Auburn University, Dr. Connell began a three-year oncology residency at the University of Illinois. During this residency she received specialty training in the diagnosis and treatment of canine and feline cancers. She is now looking forward to integrating into the Upstate Vet oncology team. Her clinical interests include hematopoietic malignancies such as lymphoma, bone cancers such as osteosarcoma, and client communication. She chose to specialize in oncology because it is a perfect combination of all the things she loves in veterinary medicine: diagnostic workups, imaging, client communication, and helping patients maintain excellent quality of life. Outside of work, Dr. Connell enjoys spending time with her husband and two dogs, other family, and friends. She loves baking, crafting, and staying active.
